Genesis
Stri Shakti as the name suggests literally means
“Women Power”. With the
vision to empower women/girls and give them equal status; Ms. Sheela
Kumari together with a group of like minded females laid the
foundation of the organization. The organization is an actively
functional charity since 1999 in the Hazaribag district of Jharkhand.
The organization is committed to fight against women atrocities,
torture, injustice and deprivation of women in the socio-economic
and political sphere. It is striving to educate women about their
rights and entitlements, impart relevant skills and make them
economically independent.
Stri Shakti has a
strong determination to ensure a gender balanced society with a
strategy to open more and more employment opportunities to women and
deprived people through Lok Samiti (People
Organization) & SHGs (Self Help Groups) and Increasing the
access of the underprivileged women over information, economic
resources and opportunities leading to a better health, education,
living condition and in decision making at all level.
